Suspended Photovoltaic Elevatable System for Agrivoltaics and Microgrids

Ganged tensile- based PV system for deployment within agricultural areas that have rising, climate-intensifying solar gain that can cause plant issues such as sun scorch. Unique design of the ganged-PV system, that can operate under >90 mph winds with strategically supported guy wiring, will allow improved crop cultivation/rotation with tractors and personnel, as well as enhanced operations and maintenance (O&M) over current fixed framed agrivoltaics. Ability to vary array height above grade allows optimization of shadowing for varying crop species, also allowing for different growth requirements due to expected crop rotation/fallow. The microgrid formed from multiple rows employing ganged-PV systems would allow power production for farms (i.e., electric tractors increasing in utilization & irrigation pumps, etc.) and neighboring communities, especially those impacted by intermittent electricity and brownouts.
