Microfluidic package and method of making the same
DWPI Title: Encapsulated microfluidic package with fluidic seal formed under mild conditions using cradle, has device of active and inactive areas with fluidic seal resulting reaction between first and second reactive groups that forms captured probe
Abstract: The present invention relates to encapsulated microfluidic packages and methods thereof. In particular embodiments, the package includes a device, a cradle configured to support the device, and a lid having a bonding surface configured to provide a fluidic seal between itself and the device and/or cradle. Other package configurations, as well as methods for making such fluidic seals, are described herein.
Use: Encapsulated microfluidic package with fluidic seal formed under mild conditions using cradle and/or a lid as bonding surface as supporting device.
Advantage: The device provides a detecting surface binding to the target analyte and detectable signal resulting from binding is provided.
Novelty: The encapsulated microfluidic package (100A) has a device (100) having active area (165) and inactive area (161). The cradle (150) supports the device. The lid (120) comprising a recess (125), upper surface and second bonding surface arranged on lower surface of lid. The recess is arranged above active area and second bonding surface has second reactive group reacting with first reactive group and first fluidic seal between first and second bonding surfaces. The first fluidic seal results from reaction between first and second reactive groups formed in presence of captured probes.
