Application Abstract: Valves that include a hollow valve stem with an internal heat transfer fluid that naturally circulates within the stem acts as a heat pipe to the valve bonnet to prevent fluid within the valve from freezing. This approach protects the valve body, stem, bonnet and sealing material such as valve packing or a bellows from being damaged by frozen fluid at any location within the valve. |
