Customized electric power storage device for inclusion in a collective microgrid

DWPI Title: Method for outputting data indicative of parameter of electric power storage device e.g. flywheel included in collective micro-grid, involves receiving indication that micro-grids are desirably coupled to create collective micro-grid
Abstract: An electric power storage device is described herein, wherein the electric power storage device is included in a microgrid. The electric power storage device has at least one of a charge rate, a discharge rate, or a power retention capacity that has been customized for a collective microgrid. The collective microgrid includes at least two connected microgrids. The at least one of the charge rate, the discharge rate, or the power retention capacity of the electric power storage device is computed based at least in part upon specified power source parameters in the at least two connected microgrids and specified load parameters in the at least two connected microgrids.
Use: Method for outputting data indicative of parameter of electric power storage device such as rechargeable battery, capacitor bank, flywheel included in collective micro-grid.
Advantage: The stability of the collective micro-grid can be ensured by obtaining custom profiles for electric power storage devices to include in the collective micro-grid. The customized electric power storage device can be designed for inclusion in the collective micro-grid.
Novelty: The method involves receiving an indication that micro-grids (204 - 206) represented as computer-implemented models are desirably coupled by an electric transmission line to create a collective micro-grid. The data indicative of parameter conforms to a stability constraint defined for the collective micro-grid, of electric power storage device that is to be placed in the collective micro-grid is outputted responsive to receiving the indication. The parameter is customized for the collective micro-grid.
