DWPI Title: Coupling qubits involve embedding tin atom in silicon substrate, forming number of quantum dot electrodes over silicon substrate, drawing electron from electron source into silicon substrate with quantum dot electrodes, and performing electron-nuclear controlled-phase gate operation
Abstract: Described herein are technologies related to detecting an event and computing a high resolution time value that indicates when the event was detected. Detector circuitry includes a pixelated array of photodetectors, where the detector circuitry is adapted to detect neutrons upon occurrence of a nuclear event. Timer circuitry includes a coarse counter, first ramp circuitry, and second ramp circuitry, and is adapted to compute a time value with a resolution of between 1-50 picoseconds based upon a count value output by the coarse counter and values of voltage ramps output by the first and second ramp circuitry.
Use: Method for coupling qubits.
Advantage: The method prevents coherence loss, which is challenging for a strongly bound electron on a donor.
Novelty: Coupling qubits involve embedding a tin atom in a silicon substrate, forming a number of quantum dot electrodes over the silicon substrate, drawing an electron from an electron source into the silicon substrate with the quantum dot electrodes, performing an electron-nuclear controlled-phase gate operation by moving the electron adiabatically toward the tin atom to achieve a specified level of hyperfine interaction (HFI) between the electron and the nucleus of the tin atom to minimize the effect of noise with the quantum dot electrodes, holding the electron at the distance of the specified HFI for a specified duration of time to represent an on state with the quantum dot electrodes and moving the electron adiabatically away from the tin atom to lower the HFI below the specified level and represent an off state with the quantum dot electrodes.
