Bracket system for equipment rack cable architecture

DWPI Title: Bracket system for use in component, has first offset, second offset, and separation that are sufficient to enable user to access and manipulate first and second interfaces of both first vertical support and second vertical support
Abstract: A bracket system for use in a system including a moveable component or equipment rack receiving one or more cables via a cable tray above the component rack, the bracket system sized to offset from the cable tray vertically from the component rack. The bracket system including a lower interface for engaging the component rack and an upper interface for engaging the cable tray, where the interface(s) may be releasably coupled to the component rack and the cable tray to enable movement of the component rack when desired in an embodiment.
Use: Bracket system for use in a component or equipment racks receiving cables through a cable tray or rail, for maintenance with limited interaction with the cable tray.
Advantage: The system enables movement of the rack for maintenance with limited interaction with the cable tray in an effective manner. The system allows a user to move the rack to a desired location for maintenance or replacement of the cables routed through a cable tray, so that the cables can be easily removed from the rack. The cable tray can be sized to offset vertically from the component rack, and the lower interface can be releasably couplable to the upper interface so as to enable the user to easily remove the cables from the cables tray. The lower interface of the bracket system can be coupled to the lower cable tray and the upper cable tray to enable easy removal and replacement of a cable routed through the cables in an efficient manner.
Novelty: The system (10) has a first vertical support including a first elongated body sized to provide a first offset from a cable tray vertically from a top of a component rack when inserted between the cable tray and the component rack. The first offset, a second offset, and separation are sufficient to enable a user to access and manipulate the first and the second interfaces of both first and second vertical supports, where the first offset is sufficient to allow the user to manipulate the interfaces. The cable tray has a fixed width along a longitudinal axis of the tray. A cross unit couples the vertical supports along the axis.
