Computing environment logbook

DWPI Title: Method for logging, displaying, searching, or manipulating history of events occurring within computing environment, involves logging events including logging logbook events generated by user, and displaying logbook events
Abstract: A computing environment logbook logs events occurring within a computing environment. The events are displayed as a history of past events within the logbook of the computing environment. The logbook provides search functionality to search through the history of past events to find one or more selected past events, and further, enables an undo of the one or more selected past events.
Use: Method for logging, displaying, searching, or manipulating a history of events occurring within a computing environment.
Advantage: The method enables assigning a unique icon representative of the event type, thus enabling the user to quickly scan logbook to visually find a particular past event. The method allows creating additional s-machines capable of performing mathematical functions and joining with the existing s-machines of a calculator group to extend the functionality of the calculator during runtime after compilation time such that the s-machines generates a real-time user-adaptable computing environment.
Novelty: The method involves providing search functionality via a logbook (1000) to search through history of past events to find selected past events. An undo of selected past events is enabled. An application in which associated events occur is loaded, and a computing environment is navigated to a location within the application in response to a user selecting a link within a log entry. The events including logging logbook events generated by the user are logged while interacting with the logbook. The logbook events are displayed.
