Photovoltaic solar concentrator

DWPI Title: Method for generating electricity from sunlight by photovoltaic solar concentrator, involves detaching photovoltaic solar cell from transferror substrate, and severing anchor connecting photovoltaic solar cell to transferror substrate
Abstract: A process including forming a photovoltaic solar cell on a substrate, the photovoltaic solar cell comprising an anchor positioned between the photovoltaic solar cell and the substrate to suspend the photovoltaic solar cell from the substrate. A surface of the photovoltaic solar cell opposite the substrate is attached to a receiving substrate. The receiving substrate may be bonded to the photovoltaic solar cell using an adhesive force or a metal connecting member. The photovoltaic solar cell is then detached from the substrate by lifting the receiving substrate having the photovoltaic solar cell attached thereto and severing the anchor connecting the photovoltaic solar cell to the substrate. Depending upon the type of receiving substrate used, the photovoltaic solar cell may be removed from the receiving substrate or remain on the receiving substrate for use in the final product.
Use: Method for generating electricity from sunlight by a photovoltaic solar concentrator.
Advantage: The method enables operating the solar cell at a low voltage to maximize sunlight-to-electrical energy conversion efficiency to locate energy storage capacitors in a feedback loop around an operational amplifier that operates as an integrator. The method enables providing a protective layer to protect a light-reflective coating during handling of lenses and insertion of the lenses into tilt plates, thus facilitating attachment of the lenses to the tilt plates and requiring little electrical power by a feedback control circuit.
Novelty: The method involves forming a photovoltaic solar cell (14) on a transferror substrate, where the solar cell comprises a discrete anchor i.e. anchors (1130) positioned between the solar cell and the transferror substrate to suspend the solar cell from the transferror substrate. A surface of the solar cell opposite the transferror substrate is attached to a receiving substrate i.e. adhesive tape. The solar cell is detached from the transferror substrate by lifting the receiving substrate including the solar cell. The anchor connecting the solar cell is severed to the transferror substrate.
