Multiplexed microfluidic approach for nucleic acid enrichment

DWPI Title: System for enhancing nucleic acid sample, has tubing which connects pump with denaturing chamber, microfluidic device, and sample collector so as to move sample from chamber to microfluidic device and then to collector
Abstract: A system for enhancing a nucleic acid sample may include a one pump, a denaturing chamber; a microfluidic hydroxyapatite chromatography device configured for performing hydroxyapatite chromatography on the nucleic acid sample, a sample collector, and tubing connecting the pump with the denaturing chamber, the hydroxyapatite chromatography device and the sample collector such that the pump may be used to move the nucleic acid sample from the denaturing chamber to the hydroxyapatite chromatography device and then to the sample collector.
Use: System for enhancing nucleic acid sample.
Advantage: The nucleic acid sample can be processed with little or no human intervention once the system is set up with samples located in the cathedral heaters. Thus, the labor and time required to process nucleic acids are significantly reduced and results are made more reproducible.
Novelty: The system (300) has a micro fluidic hydroxyapatite chromatography device which is configured for performing hydroxyapatite chromatography on nucleic acid sample. A tubing (312) is configured to fluidically connect pump (308,310) with denaturing chamber, microfluidic device, and sample collector such that pump is used to move nucleic acid sample from denaturing chamber to microfluidic device and then to sample collector. First enclosure (302) is configured to surround pump, denaturing chamber and micro fluidic device.
