| Abstract: An apparatus for increasing security in inter-chip communication includes a sending control module, a communication bus, and a receiving control module. The communication bus is coupled between the sending control module and the receiving control module. The sending control module operates to send data on the communication bus, disable the communication bus when threats are detected, or both. |

| Advantage: Existing methodologies for robust parameter design and system verification testing are used to ensure the appropriate test cases are covered. The different integrity checks are randomized in order to increase security by making the integrity checks unpredictable. Thus, the secure communication between electronic components in embedded system is enhanced. |
| Novelty: The system (100) has a sending controller (110) with a system sense module (115) that generates an authentication signature of sending control unit by performing a system integrity check. A combining logic generates a hashed authentication signature based on a fresh random number. The combining logic generates a communication frame by combining the hashed authentication signature and the data and sends the communication frame onto a communication bus (130). A receiving controller (120) is coupled to the communication bus to receive the communication frame. |
