Non-intrusive data authentication systems and methods

DWPI Title: System for creating separate digital and cryptographically secure signal branch to secondary observer, has primary observer connected to junction box, where junction box comprises secondary observer side that comprises hardware
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that create a separate digital and cryptographically secure signal “branch” to a secondary observer from a primary signal path of an information system. The information system may be a measurement system. The secure signal branch is creating without interfering with the primary signal path. In such a manner, the secondary observer may authenticate reported data while not interfering with the signal of the information system.
Use: System for creating a separate digital and cryptographically secure signal branch to a secondary observer from a primary signal path of an information system.
Advantage: The system monitors a source data stream by a secondary observer without knowledge of the primary observer. The junction box uses galvanic isolation to enable enhanced data authentication system (EDAS) to monitor a main data stream without interfering with data transmission. The system is designed such that unsecured data streams from legacy instrumentation in operational facilities can be cryptographically secured.
Novelty: The system has an enhanced data authentication system (EDAS) junction box (200) connected to an information system i.e. measurement system. A primary observer is connected to the junction box. A secondary observer is connected to the junction box, where the junction box comprises a secondary observer side that comprises hardware, firmware, and software that monitors and copies data (260) to form a data copy, cryptographically secures the data copy, and securely transmits the data copy to the secondary observer, and the data is copied and transmitted to the secondary observer without manipulation of the data, where the information system is selected from a group consisting of a sensor, a computer, a data network, a database, and a social media network.
