Integrated Variable Renewable Energy THERMS Systems for Process Heat
This invention is directed to a radial packed bed thermal energy storage (TES) system, with variable renewable energy charging, autonomous controls, and process heat discharge. The invention incorporates variable renewable energy sources to charge the THERMS energy storage system. Additionally, an autonomous control programs are proposed to ensure a constant charge temperature and automate the daily charge, hold, and discharge cycles. Lastly, the utilization of the system’s discharge heat for various process applications.
